McChrystal. And he paid for it with his career. Far more courageous than Powell in that regard.
The point I'm making is it is not the place of military officers to criticize politicians. And in McChrystal's case direct superiors. It doesn't turn out well...
These are my posts. Nowhere in here did I challenge the racial undertone validity of the language. I merely questioned it and I'm sure there are alot of racial slang words I don't know about. They didn't have KKK schools where I've lived.

Shuckin, jivin, groovin, boot scoot n booty and britches are not terms my friends and I use. I'm in a different demographic ad region for those terms, evidently.

I just read you link and all I can say is, wow. The Republican Party scraped the bottom of the barrel picking this loser...
Correct. Sarah Palin was the GOP equivalent of George Wallace, and not far removed from David Duke. At least, neither of them tried to get away with racist overtones via "cutesy" phrases.
John McCain should have formally apologized to the nation for his outragous VP pick.

Below is what I was referencing. This statement can either be construed as meaning "Shuckin and jivin is not racist" or it can mean "is Shuckin and jivin racist?" Your statement followed by a question mark set the tone.

Now your below statement pointed me in the direction you meant the former. You provided direct experience that infers that you believe the term may not be racist. It is an argument that implies since not all applications are racist [i.e. the movies reference] the term may not be racist.

Now green_mariner provided a link showing some of the positions Sara Palin took as governor to provide a little more context around the situation. So with that said is Colin Powell right in his assessment? Was the example he provided adequate?

Maybe he didn't know that she was so hickish and racist? Media reports prior to her selection made her seem like an intellectual and efficient executive.

I hope that to be the case, but he needed to threaten to rebuke her publicly if need be, during the campaign. I recall Lieberman saying "Country before party", and McCain's silence was "Party before country". That made him, in 2008, a coward.
Powell is a "race preference" politician and an idiot. Who cares what an idiot thinks? Perhaps people should think for themselves and not seek the "wisdom" of twits.
