My point was that your opinion is redundant and then you went on to say that arguing that way is senseless, which proved my point...
Your ability to comprehend basic language is on a pre-k grade level.

No. You did not read the article because if you had you'd know that in the very first senctence it clearly states "citizenry" which, by the way, are humans. That's ultimately what this is about. Humans own guns. Not rocks. Not birds. Not cars. Humans. Idiot. HUMANS.

That's opinion. Not fact. You know I'm sorry to break it to you but your opinion honestly is utterly worthless.

No you have proven over and over again that you're a complete imbecile. You seem to think your opinion is fact.
I ignore people too stupid to comprehend the Constitution.
When you're ready to do a complete overhaul of the bill of rights, starting w/the 1st amendment, get back with me, then we'll talk.
Afterall, they didnt have internet, cell phones or even a daily paper 200+ years ago.
You never saw a "30 round magazine clip" either. There is no such thing. There is such a thing as a clip, and such a thing as a magazine, but no such thing as a "magazine clip." I would think people would take the time to educate themselves before chiming in on a debate over legislation. Would you chime in on a debate over car safety regs with a comment about "wheel tires?"
man are you really nit-picking that???...most sane folk understood what he meant.
A servant government that wishes to disarm the people is no longer a servant, but a master.
That is the problem.
I recall reading that some folks in 1776 thought that governments were instituted to secure rights, not abolish them.
I could be wrong.

any government advocating the total disarmament of the people has failed and would have no power to accomplish that task. Advocating is one thing...execution is another.
Tom Brokaw's point is that people should not fear that comming about. Unlike Tom, I know people like to scare themselves.

Principles don't change with the times. People do, but principles are foundational and forever. The Constitution is NOT a "living document", to be changed as the wind blows.

Oh, my, how naive! Things like this don't happen all of a sudden by "advocating the total disarmament"...they happen without openly advocating...it happens slowly, relentlessly, unnoticed, while the people snooze freedoms are lost.

I bet people who opposed addition of the Bill of Rights also presumed the Constitution to be a dead document that should only rest as a reminder and guiding principle, not one to amend and kept healthy.
