I think that most people will chalk it up to the overall COMPASSION of the community and the RESPECT that these people had for each other. I know that my first thought would not be to whip out my cell and hit record when I know that countless children are dead or dying.

What is wrong with people? Seriously, is your life that void of meaning that you sit around and "wonder" why more people didn't take picture and videos of grieving parents/children/school staff?

I have never heard of anything so morbid and twisted.
Well first off nobody knew what the hell was going on at the time. So your overall compassion and respect didn't have a place yet. Well maybe except for the folks who created the memorial web pages the days prior to it taking place.

Yes what is wrong with people? Why can't they tell us the truth?

How does that work? How does the government control all the various media companies as well as the individual journalists? How do they coordinate stories?

Here is the new official story as of Jan 18.............

]Seized inside the school:
#1. Bushmaster .223 caliber-- model XM15-E2S rifle with high capacity 30 round clips
#2. Glock 10 mm handgun
#3. Sig-Sauer P226 9mm handgun
Seized from suspect’s car in parking lot:

#4. Izhmash Canta-12 12 gauge Shotgun (seized from car in parking lot)

http://www.ct.gov/despp/cwp/view.asp?Q=517284&A=4226

Of course on the police scanner in the origional search of the school we hear this..........
Here is the audio saying "Be advised we have multiple weapons including long rifles and shotguns". This is while they are searching the school they haven't even looked in the car yet. The scanner also mentions multiple suspects and we of course have the guy they are chasing into the woods via the chopper cam that is now supposedly some swat guy who just happened to be hunting right next to a school??? We're supposed to believe all this?

It's at 19:55:00 on the YT counter or 9:55:25 AM actual time

What kind of person believes everything they read in a newspaper or what politicians tell them happened, rather than asking questions and being curious when presented with conflicting information, odd statements from eye witnesses, timelines that don't necessarily match up, etc - and executive orders and new laws are being formulated based on these events?

I want to know what happened, not out of morbid curiosity, but because legislation that affects all of us, which is based on the events in Sandy Hook, is pending.

They want to be comforted. Simple remedy to nervousness, take everyone's guns away.

Comfort is very important to people.

So are you suggesting that those of us who are not particularly suspicious about this incident are "the kind of people" who believe everything we read or hear on the news? That's a pretty broad generalization if that's what you're saying. And it's also rather insulting. Do you really think that people who don't find this particular incident suspicious are generally dull and never question "stories," information, or authority? If you do, that doesn't speak well for your critical thinking skills.

Laws can be "formulated" about anything. That doesn't mean the bills are going to pass both houses of Congress.

Again, do you doubt that the children were really killed, and do you think that the "government" had anything to do with it?

Yet another simplistic generalization.

And there you have it, folks...

As could be expected, conservatives have decided to just play the "conspiracy card" and bury their heads in the sand about the entire tragedy, given that it has the potential to conflict with their unrestrained gun interests.

Doesn't fit the agenda? It must be a conspiracy!

A bunch of kids murdered in a school? Whatever - we're not concerned with any of that! We'll just deny the whole thing and flood the internet with all kinds of hare-brained and thoroughly implausible fantasies!

There is just no limit to the disgraceful depths to which a conscience-impaired conservative will sink to avoid reality.
