Terry Gross rude? I guess Allison Aubrey is vehemently anit-vegetable? Neal Conan must be a fly by night hack who couldn't cut it in the "real" new industry. And by far the worse of all is that Frank Deford, he is such a terrible writer.

I would agree the interview wasn't rude. However, it was very different than the first interview. Her tone of voice was polite, but it was still an adversarial interview. It wasn't a "what does your organization do" type of thing, it was a "justify why your organization does what it does" thing.

The introductions to the two interviews were very different also. The first one was "it's the 40th anniversary of Roe v Wade but states are still trying to pass laws to restrict it" while the second one was "there are only 1800 abortion centers but 2500 pregnancy centers and some medical professionals are criticizing them".

The people they chose to interview were different. Their pro choice interview was given to a married woman who wanted her pregnancy and reluctantly chose to terminate it because the baby had birth defects. Their pro life interview was the leader of a pro life organization.

For the first interview, why not choose the leader of an abortion clinic and ask her why they don't offer an equal amount of support for adoption? That would have been balanced.

Why didn't they choose a single woman who got pregnant on accident and terminated it because it would cause a lot of inconvenience to her? Or a woman who aborted a healthy fetus and regretted it later? Or, given that they didn't, why not choose a woman who gave her child up for adoption and was very satisfied with her choice for the second interview? That would have been balanced.

Simply saying the interviewer wasn't rude doesn't mean the segment was in any way unbiased.

That's some pretzel logic.

Because that's not what women's medical clinics do?

Adversarial? Compared to what? Good grief, guest are allowed to not only form complete sentences without interruption they can even express whole freaking thoughts! When's the first time - much less the last time - that Chris Matthews, Sean Hannity or anyone you can name that allows that to happen. Ms. Gross never employs sarcasm, never belittles, asks open ended questions that allow a guest to respond in anyway that they choose, and always gives every guest the upmost respect. She never gives closing comments or makes any comment that a guest isn't allowed to respond to. If that is adversarial... then everyone else in the universe is using waterboarding.

If NPR rots your brain, one wonders if it wasn't infected to begin with.

Why does NPR (National Propaganda Radio) even get our tax money? They are nothing more than a liberal propaganda machine.

It is her "bullying" attitude and general disgust over having to speak to anyone with a view that differs from her own extreme one. You will notice a big difference in tone between the way the two guests are treated. There is absolutely zero journalistic integrity.

The first link is an interview with a pro-choice guest. The second one is a pro-life guest. They were played back to back and you can hear a big difference in both the tone and treatment of the issues.

Thanks for supporting NPR...I would've never guessed you were a fan.

And I just sent them another donation. Every time a republican ignorantly whines about public radio, I send them money.
