guess it doesnt lower health care cost for everyone. you did hear that the IRS said it would cost a family of 4 $20,000 for a health care plan that they would approve...........right?
I hope all the liberals that supported this bill have to start shelling out that 20k each and every month.
ole we have to pass it in order to see what is in it.
jeeze, if they did that all the time, we would not have any reason at all for the need of politicians. we would just pass all the bills and read them after the fact.
I don't think some people realize, for numerous issues, that seeing a Nurse Practitioner is no less care than seeing a Doctor. It could be that many Doctors don't want people to realize this.
Nurse Practioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) have been around for a long time and has nothing to do with Obama care and all to do with more affordable care. They are qualified to take care of most routine medical procedures in those states that license them to do so.
The PA in my Md's office has a larger practice within the Family Practice than the Md does.
Some states allow NPs to write scripts for certain medications and some states are allowing NPs to operate with greater autonomy, including operating independent of physicians.
Dems pushing for nurse practitioners instead of doctors providing some care in California. Says too many new patients not enough doctors as a result of Obamacare. DUH!
"As the state moves to expand healthcare coverage to millions of Californians under President Obama's healthcare law, it faces a major obstacle: There aren't enough doctors to treat a crush of newly insured patients. Doctors say giving non-physicians more authority and autonomy could jeopardize patient safety. It could also drive up costs, because those workers, who have less medical education and training, tend to order more tests and prescribe more antibiotics, they said...About 350 laws altering what health professionals may do have been enacted nationwide in the last two years, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Since Jan. 1, more than 50 additional proposals have been launched in 24 states."
Im sure the millions who would have other wise suffered are glad for it. With greedy employers dropping HC left and right(started way before the AHA) most people need this. We should have gone single payer.

I see a nurse practitioner monthly to test my blood and fill my prescriptions.
If I have a malfunction I see my primary care, and when I have a major malfunction I have specialists at the wait. I had a health scare recently and the specialist did all they could. to quote my mom..."they did everything but check my coat for fleas".
I was with my doctor under work ppo, for 12 years and there was change then. In the begining I never waited 15 minutes past my appointment time, never waited 15 in the exam room, and have unlimited time with the doctor.
My Doctor joined a Medical group, a new Doctor moved into the office, the number of patients quadrupled, the wait time increased, the wait time in the exam room increased, and time with the Doctor dropped.
So if you dont see problems today with healthcare [and way before Obamacare], you have been lucky not to need it.
Less people get care when the entire health care system collapses; and the care you can get (if you can wait in line for 78 hours straight) is provided by the local boy scout troop that planned to learn first aid next year.

It's everyone in America having an insurance card that they care about.
The actual lack of care due to insufficient trained people hasn't hit their thought process yet.
I had a hard time finding a new primary physician when I moved and I'm not medicare/medicaid either.
Many doctors are just not accepting new patients these days.
I get better and quicker response from my vet (and he makes house calls )
3. "The market" cannot fix the supply of physicians, as those slots are determined by the degree of federal and state funding. You can't just "create" more slots or "build" another med school. Will NPs and PAs assume a greater role? Yes- very few physicians I know are going to take any Obamacare patients, as they are medicaid patients, who tend to be very difficult and have the lowest reimbursement.
God forbid that a doctor might deign to treat patients based on their need, i.e. because they are sick, rather than based on how much money can be made off of them.
If you read the article, it's evident that it's the doctors in California that oppose allowing other health professionals to hone in their territory. There was a study done that showed that nurse practitioners can deliver about 80 % of the care that a family practitioner does. So I think it's a great idea to allow nurse practitioners to deliver this care and leave the more difficult cases for the doctors. It lowers health care costs and is a win for everyone (except the greedy doctors).
Another example of a liberal who just doesn't understand economics and budgets. As long as Social Utopiaâ„¢ is in place, who cares how much it costs!!!
