Obama to receive special award in Israel

President Obama will be getting a special award when he visits Israel next month.

Obama will receive the Presidential Medal of Distinction, the office of Israeli President Shimon Peres announced Monday.

The first sitting U.S. president to receive the award is being honored for making "a unique and significant contribution to strengthening the State of Israel and the security of its citizens," said the announcement.

Obama is expected to be in Israel on March 20, part of a Middle East trip that also includes the West Bank and Jordan.

Last year Obama awarded Peres the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States.

I guess he is no as anti-Israel as some claim. Or at least the Israelis don't think so.

Quite a distinction, as compared to his predecessors. "The first sitting U.S. president to receive the award ..... "

I've been saying that for years, and I'm Jewish.

As Reform, to me the biggest issue we have is the extremely conservative Jew. They are the "We are the chosen people and that's that!' types that get us into trouble.

Well, you know that is coming because some things are just "facts of life".

Why? According to some of these forum threads, Israel hates Obama, and Obama hates Israel.

This is just a quid pro quo.

President Obama gave Peres the Presidential Medal of Freedom and Peres now reciprocates with the Medal of Distinction.

It is all a meaningless charade.

They were pretty upset with “W” after he pushed Israel to surrender Gaza to the terrorists, and after he insisted for elections there which put Hamas officially in power. As we know, Hamas is a terrorist organization.

Well, this meaningless charade would not be taking place if the Limbaugh/Beck/FOX claims were true.
