this would be a fairly easy solution to the welfare issue.
all those out of work that are capable of doing so, should get govt. created work.
ie: Roadworks, factories, cleaning, admin etc...

If they did it like FDR did it with the Nat'l Parks CCC program, I'd go for it.
They lived in barracks, did exercise every morning and not only
had a job but developed discipline, self worth and Pride.
Hiring is slow. But there is LOTS of jobs.
People just aren't qualified for a lot of them. People don't take self responsibility anymore to better themselves. They want the government to do everything.

People already HAVE those jobs, so you'd either have to lay off those currently working, or make up work that doesn't exist - like re-cleaning the same floor over & over?? Then you'd have less for each employee to do, which would inevitably lead to hour reductions or layoffs. You're just describing the problem we already face, which is too many workers with not enough jobs to give them. Brilliant.
One could start by deporting a whole load of immigrants.
in that way, there would be a lower supply of workers, so we could have higher rates of employment.

Only if you cut a lot out of welfare and other social programs. Since everyone would be at "work", there should be no reason for people to use those programs... right?
the only entry level jobs is online applications and that's IF they're not lying about hiring because Petco did that before. so stupid! why say you're hiring when you're not?
