I believe, honestly, it is.

Anyone want to DISCUSS it (without the usual personal insults from some)?

My wife is a liberal, I am a conservative. We find a lot of middle ground and we love each other.

Just trying to illustrate how small a unit the ideological differences are manifested.

Well, hell, anything is possible. The real question, is what is the probability, I would say slim and none. While there is can be little doubt that these are contentious times, they are nothing to compare to the political tensions during the Great Depression or even the 60's. If there wasn't a civil war then, I cannot for the life of me see how one is likely now. Personally, I think that it is a lot of wishful thinking on the part of some folks who have absolutely no intention of going any further with such intents than clicking a keyboard on an internet discussion forum.

No way.

A very small, very angry, very vocal minority will not constitute a "civil war."

Think Ted Kaczynski, Eric Rudolph, Timothy McVeigh...

Heck, you could even toss in everybody who built a Y2K bunker.

Given that a recent city election was attended by fewer than 20% of the population a Civil War would be ignored by most. Besides there are very few actual "rights" being abused by the government. The government is limiting some preferences but very few rights.

Above all there are no major geographically separate economic interests that would benefit from a civil war.

I hope so, the sooner we start hanging Secessionist and Traitors from street lights the better. Our problem the last time was that we gave them amnesty.

If Obama and the rest of his Socialistic associates and followers keep up what they are trying to do, yes, I'm deeply afraid it will happen. There's a lot more than a small minority who are disgusted with these procedings as the Tea Parties have shown and if the turn out for The Second Amendment March on April 19th of 2010 is as expected, the point will be solidly made. Not to mention how the 2010 elections work out and the Liberals lose many of their seats.

Doing this just increases the ranks of "secessionists and traitors", especially in today's youtube based citizen media. Did you graduate from Dubya's "kill them all and you don't have terrists anymore" school?
