Because pregnancy isn't a disease or sickness - duh!!!!!!
But IT IS A MEDICAL CONDITION that requires treatment. It can be life-threatening. It does permanently change the woman physically. It is often accompanied by sickness and disease. Women do lose days of work due to pregnancy. And pregnancy has consequences. Duh!!!!!!
I want to get an erection and be able to have sex is a medical condition?
"I don't want to get measles" evidently isn't a medical condition. So I guess vaccines for measles, mumps, chicken pox, etc, shouldn't be covered by insurance, either.
Conservatives think that it's crazy to spend tax payer money on this when there are so many other, more important things going on. Conservatives hate entitlements. The U.S has a $17,000,000,000,000 + debt and it's only increasing with Obama in office. Some people don't understand economics.
Liberals think that free birth control helps support women's rights. These people think they are fighting for equality but what they are really fighting for is special treatment towards women. How can you be fighting for equality if men and women aren't given equal treatment/equal rights? Have you ever seen a campaign fighting for men's rights (if you did it is very uncommon)?
I agree, I think the condoms idea is a good solution.
I'm not sure what taxpayer money you're talking about. Most people get BC through private insurance, you know, the health care funding some RWs salivate over? For those on Medicaid, it sure is less expensive than paying for a baby, especially a preemie baby that costs millions.

Because some want everything but, want others to pay for it.

conservatives want to control the sexual behavior of women.
Then, following your logic - as a woman, I don't get erectile dysfunction, testicular cancer, nor prostate cancer, so any medications to do with those shouldn't be covered.
If you abstain from having sex, you don't need birth control pills.

Because sex is bad?
Regular sex actually has been shown to have a number of health benefits. It's a natural human drive to want to have sex, just like it's natural for babies to want to suckle. Sex isn't just about procreation. Whatever your religion teaches.
Unless those women were FORCE to have sex , they CHOSE to engage. If they get pregnant it is THEIR fault.
The core of the argument. It's their FAULT, they deserve to be punished.
