NACDL
Minnesota

Loss & Restoration of Civil Rights: All civil rights lost upon conviction of any felony; restored upon completion of sentence.
Firearms Privileges: All firearms privileges lost upon conviction of any felony; restored upon completion of sentence except for crimes of violence; also restored by court or pardon.
Maybe. If he was convicted of hunting violations that kicks in another set of penalties in many states. Wildlife Conservation Officers have more police powers than almost any other law enforcement body.

Of course it is political. Polar bear populations, for example, are increasing, not declining. But they were put on the "endangered species" list because their off-shore habitat MAY disappear in 20 to 30 years.

This allowed the environmental wackos to get Congress to set aside a chunk of land larger than the State of California on Alaska's north slope. Not to protect polar bear habitat, like they pretend, but solely for the purpose of blocking any further oil development on Alaska's north slope.

In Illinois he would be banned for life. No matter what the felony was for. And even i the state allows it, Federal law prohibits a felon from owning a firearm or even having one in the premises of where the felon lives. And if the feds prosecute it, you are looking at a hard 5 year minimum.

Well there is opinion and then there are actual facts, since there are a few hundred on the list maybe you could provide around 100 for delisting.

I doubt he'll have much trouble procuring an illegal weapon if he decides he wants one once back out on the street. That is the real problem..........illegal weapons in the hands of criminals.......something nobody seems to focus on. They would rather try and harass law abiding citizens with more ridiculous legislation.
