We probably agree on more than you can imagine, petch. I merely choose to see it from a larger perspective. You seem to place the majority of the blame (for the current state of this union) upon one man. I do not see him as being nearly that powerful. It is the workings (I use that term loosely ) of the government as a whole that have brought us to where we are, and it began LONG before Obama's name was ever even heard. The process is recently escalating, and Obama is merely the figurehead in place at the time.

What Obama's stated policies are, and what has actually occurred since his becoming President, are two entirely different things. The actual outcomes are the manifestation of the whole, not of that one man.

The parties in DC are manipulating the masses and polarizing them to think "their side" is the side of righteousness, and "the other guy" is the enemy.

And all the while, their plan is being carried out while we're preoccupied with the hatred that they supplant.

I chose, more recently than I'd like to admit, to stop following their lead, and to question everything I hear from a tv, radio, or Internet forum. I have found that my "enemies" are not my neighbors, and this whole political process in DC (and maybe worldwide) is suspect.

Carry on petch, and, WOW, 4:54am, eh? Don't you EVER get any sleep?

I used to work 12 hour night shift so I'm used to little sleep.

By now we have become aware Cyprus and the sudden freezing and taxation (confiscate money) right out of peoples bank accounts. You can guarantee that our government is watching for reaction.

It's a money grab but in America, Obama supporters actually voted for confiscation of other peoples money. It is the same thing, different method.

Yea, I do realize that Obama is a puppet who is sent out to manipulate the people. It's working. I would say more but what is the point. People do not realize what is really going on.

Yeah ... I hear that. While it's been almost a year, I am still having a hard time adjusting to retirement. Sometimes I'm up till all hours (wife complains), other times I'm exhausted in the afternoon (wife complains) It gets very strange when you see each other 24/7.

If you really put a little thought to what is going on it is not so different than paying taxes. It's just a money grab but in America, Obama supporters actually vote to confiscation other peoples money.
Aye ... I was aware of that last night . I haven't had a chance to sink into it yet, though, as I'm consumed with getting my tax documents together . Beating a dead horse here ... but that's another generalization I find that irks me to pieces ... "retired people aren't paying taxes". Whaaaaat?!?!? I wish I could find out how THEY'RE doing it, 'cuz I'm definitely paying quite a bit.

Aye ... they don't. Things are SO HARD for the average citizen these days. I don't think they really have the time, nor the energy, to follow the BS that's been surrounding them, and to see it without the blinded emotions (your term, I believe) that have been cast upon them by the media.

I wonder what the outcome of all of this is going to be in a few years. I wish I had solutions, but alas, I think I have only recently seen the problems.
