What a freakin joke that is. I have never in my life seen a big organization that is so full of hate as the GOP. They rank right up there with the Westborough Baptist Church. The Westborough is just a tiny little group of people though and can't really do to much harm.

Have you never understood that the GOP has voted against and rejected every single social progress programme in American history? how could you possibley believe that they give a rats azz about you or any American at all. Interesting you should inject the Westboro Baptist Church into this discussion, as a little bit of research into the WBC's political past uncovers quite a history of support for Democratic political candidates (most interestingly Al Gore's 1988 presidential campaign during which they donated the use of their law offices).

Being very close to financial services for the developmentally disabled myself, it doesn't appear that the monthly financial/residential service allowances for DD consumers is--or has at all been--at risk for reduction or elimination (I don't what else you'd be referring to). The GOP has been quite enthusiastic in their disregard (aka "reform" in situational leftspeak) for the U.S.'s rule of law for about eleven years that immediately come to mind.
Personally, I feel something that one might call "hatred" for people who try to reform the U.S. Constitution (and I'm sure there may be a certain amendment to the Bill of Rights you have in mind here) without doing so in a constitutionally mandated fashion (like, for instance, banning scary, black rifles by legislative whim).

I'm well aware of the terms and background of the 1919 Nickle resolution. You may not be aware that it only applies to "foreign" titles, and therefore only applies to honours granted by the Crown in right of other realms (e.g. U.K. knighthoods). Any Canadian government which wished to do so, could choose to bestow knighthoods - and presumably any other sorts of titular honours - in right of the Canadian Crown.
