You liberals are funny. THis thread is about showing that 80 percent of shooting in this country are gang related..you know the same stats that you liberals mix in with other gun deaths to try to discredit gun ownership in America despite it being a Constitutional Right. The stats dont lie. Certain races and heritages are much more predisposed to violence than others, mostly because of lack of family structure at the core. Instead of attacking that structure in a positive manner to better it and holding your own to account, you cower at the thought and call others racist who post a stat from a credible national organization. It's easier to turn your back and attack law abiding people.

Discipline and upbringing. There , thats your solution. 70 plus percentage born out of wedlock. It's that simple.
Was that so hard for you to do? Was it that hard for you to look at the causes?
But the 70 percent born out of wedlock, you need to consider that some couples wait until after the baby is born to get married.70 percent of children might born out of wedlock, but 44 percent of Black households have a married couple. With that, it leaves another question. Which segment of the Black population has the most households headed by a single parent?
You see, this is where I think differently. Nothing is as simple as you would like to think. Out-of-wedlock births were very low among Blacks, until the 1970s. In fact, it was during the 1970s where out of wedlock birth rates skyrocketed in this country, and not only for Blacks, but for Whites and Hispanics as well. These were changes that happened in American society.
And another question: Why are you have such an unhealthy obsession with Blacks?
We're ALL apes! Or don't you believe in evolution?
I don't think you get it , do you? The person who made the "scalding apes" comment was basically calling Black people "apes". Black people have been stereotypes as "apes" and "monkeys" for a long time.
It is how those facts are used, and the agenda behind it. I can talk about crime issues within the Black community with other persons on this forum because it is being discussed in the context of which segment of the Black population is doing the crime, who is getting murdered the most, the causes, the solution, the history behind many things. In this thread, it is being presented as "Blacks are a threat to society, avoid them all".
It isn't only what you say, but how you say it. If you come at me in an attitude of arrogance and callousness, I'm not going to want to discuss anything with you. I'm going to question your motives. There is a difference between tough love and being arrogant.
So your beef is that you think when folks talk about Blacks and crime they are referring to all Blacks? I think that's a specious argument since I think people know all Blacks are not criminals. Look the guys that are doing these criminal acts are disproportionately Black but there are other common characteristics as well in terms of income, education and style of attire etc.

It is part of it. And if it is such a specious, fallacious argument, then perhaps one should look at HOW people say things. A big part is HOW you say it. A big part of my beef is the way alot of people come with these issues. It is the arrogance that disturbs me. It is the context for which it's discussed. I discuss this issue with some people, but I don't come at this issue the way you do or the way smittyjohn does. It is the manner, the context, and the attitude for which it is approached.
I think I know many people know that not all Blacks are criminals. However, given the way some people discuss this subject, it would seem like people are talking about ALL Blacks.
This is the way I discuss it. I discuss it in a different context. I know there is more to the idea of crimes being committed by African-Americans than meets the eye. I know it is one segment of the Black population doing this. I know that with murder, it is mostly Blacks being murdered by other Blacks. I also views these issues from a historical context. I bring up the role of broken homes, anger, nihilism, the reasons people join gangs, this stupid drug war, education, peer pressure.
The way I think the OP is coming at this issue is from a place of paranoia, from a "Blacks are a menace to society" perspective. That is what I see. When he mentioned Blacks committing alot of murders, he didn't mention WHO was getting murdered. It wasn't mentioned that Blacks get murdered the most in this nation, and that Black men have the highest death rate in America. I will mention that. I look at this from a "we can do better than this" perspective.
Over all, it is the arrogance and callousness that disturbs me.
