I guess when it was used by Special Forces in the 60s in Nam, it was a hunting rifle? Were they able to get their quota of rabbits?

So are you trying to ban something that is already banned?

the armalite 15 was a civilian hunting rifle being sold to civilians, before it was ever an M-16 being issued to the military.

This is the type of quality response one can expect from liberals in a gun control discussion.

I'm not a liberal but yes, I do tend toward preferring the truth. The AR15 .223 cal was used in Nam as an assault weapon. That is the truth.

Wrong again, the ar15 was not used in Vietnam. The m16 was used, but it is highly restricted for the average Americans now.
This explains it.

Let me google that for you
I guess that's the difference from believing someone elses version of "truth" and actually living it. By the time I got there in 67, the M16 was in use. However in the early 60s Spec Forces were using the AR15 with good effect. That good effect is what led the DOD to get the M16 developed for general use. I believe the AR15 was semi auto but the new M16 was capable of full auto or semi. Actually most of my guys used the M16 on semi.

But the m16 is already highly regulated.
