I do think LE knows what they're doing.

They didn't rob a 7-11.

Your link has been taken down. So they didn't rob the store now? Did they still carjack the guy?

I want to know about the connections of any groups tied to these, how ever it looks like Russia might have that information thankfully.
Russia won't have any info - these guys moved here when they were young and became radicalized in Islamist extremism while here.

Tamerlan apparently spent time in Dagestan whree his ideology may have been increased.

These guys have little connection to Russia - though they may be sympathetic to the Muslim extremist Chechen cause.

Their home nation may be entirely irrelevant - what we do know is that at least one brother was trying to be a rather serious Muslim and during his exposure to extremism, may have influenced his younger brother.

These guys are in the minority.

Most Muslims don't act this way.

But those who do need to be identified and dealt with.

Russia alerted the USA to this guy which led to his being questioned by the FBI a few years back.

That's wierd; it was working when I posted it. Oh, well. Here's another one.

Second Boston Bombing Suspect Apprehended Alive -- Daily Intelligencer
**7:04 p.m.: At a press conference in which Gov. Deval Patrick announced the end of the stay-at-home order and the reopening of the T and other public transit, Massachusetts State Police Col. Timothy Alben said Tsarnaev had fled on foot and was thought to be still in the Boston area. He also said Dzhokhor Tsarnaev and his brother Tamerlan, who died in last night's shoot-out with police, did not rob a 7-11, as had been reported, but just happened to be there when someone else robbed it. The Tsarnaev brothers had been suspected of kicking off Thursday evening's chaos by robbing a 7-11 before they shot a Massachusetts police officer, carjacked a vehicle, and led police on a chase that ended in gunfire.

I don't know about the carjacking.

He has been radicalized since 2009 according to relatives. The application for citizenship was denied due to the fbi interview, not the criminal charges, as he wasnt convicted.

From what I read, Tamerlan met with some extremists, and Russia might know about them. If those extremists have anything to do with even suggesting such attacks, they need to be identified.

...but the FBI interview seems to have come up with nothing, so why would that have affected him?

Quote:
“The FBI checked U.S. government databases and other information to look for such things as derogatory telephone communications, possible use of online sites associated with the promotion of radical activity, associations with other persons of interest, travel history and plans, and education history,” according to the statement. “The FBI also interviewed Tamerlan Tsarnaev and family members. The FBI did not find any terrorism activity, domestic or foreign, and those results were provided to the foreign government in the summer of 2011.”
