A bit off topic but I'm laughing at some of the cons on here belly aching about CNN. But you guys sure know who to tune in to for "Breaking News" right?

Yeah, I'm bellyaching but I also know where "breaking news" can come from. Where else can you get 24/7 news coverage? Besides WBZ radio here in Boston.

I was watching the NatGeo special on the 80's the other night. They did a big piece on the shooting of Reagan. They swore blind live on TV for a considerable length that Reagan had not been shot in the incident, and reported several erroneous accounts of the unfolding events before they were given the actual facts.
Such is the way news operates when it's reporting in real time. If there is confusion in real life, that's reflected in the reporting. This is not a modern phenomenon.

CNN is a complete joke and boy did they embarrass themselves today.

Thanks for posting this, because you are absolutely right. I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm old enough to remember that day very clearly, and it WAS chaos. The only difference is that we didn't have 24/7 cable news coverage, so there was less potential for things to get completely out of hand. The networks still got lots of things wrong at first--they were breaking in with reports-- because they were trying to grab any tidbit that they could find and they reported it live. Sounds familiar, doesn't it. That's always been the nature of TV news and live reporting in a time of crisis.
I think perhaps many of those reliable sources are not so relaible like always. Most sources have agenda and sometimes its actaully offical leaked for investgative purposes. We have long known about teh authorities moving in thing to get reaction.
Wolf just said it seems the "sources" are confused. LOL
Wolf is such a damn clown. If he didnt have a distinct voice and beard, he would never have the job he does. An absolute clown.
Our news media today is at its worst. Lets just put this info out just because one "source" says something. As if anyone needed another reason to not watch CNN. It annoys the hell out of me when I go into public places that have tvs, and they have CNN on. As if they are actually worth a crap at reporting news. They arent.
And even though CNN shouldnt have went off one source, whoever talks to this "source", should kick the crap out of the source.
