Oh really?!!! How many kids are openly gay at such a young age? It has to be a mere handful. This is just doublespeak to make them appear ever so slightly more tolerant.
Boy Scouts aren't entirely a Christian foundation. Boy Scouts are chartered (or in other words sponsored) largely by religious organizations namely the Mormon church. Boy Scouts are not actually pressured to go after religious medals (not a requirement for Eagle Scout) they just need to be reverent (a point in the Scout Law.)
As for the homosexual/bisexual parents issue I am fine with gay parents more so than gay youth. The only gays I would worry about at the 16-25 or so homosexual/bisexuals who are finding out they have attraction to other men. Most older homosexuals/bisexuals would not go and have sexual relations with a boy/young adult. The issue is the older boys in the program and the young adults according to the program (18-21.)
I am fine with knowing say Troop 507 out of your hometown is a troop sponsored by the Mormons that is not accepting gay boys or adults but in the next town over is Troop 771 who accepts them because they are sponsored by the parents.
Perhaps a good idea. Make keep away the molesters.
