CNN International is targeted at English-speaking westerners overseas, primarily Americans. If you want a news channel with an actual international focus, you'd want something more like al-Jazeera English.

MTV doesn't play music videos anymore. AMC doesn't play strictly American movie classics.

Just another business doing what it takes to make a buck.

Note: Sometimes I watch The Learning Channel but don't learn anything.

And the Weather Channel but get no weather.

Not really. To see what I mean, find someone from a Latin American country and keep calling him an "Americano."

The short answer to your questions is that CNN knows that that many people love watching this sort of thing and they might as well capture this market,,,,simple

They figure with enough 24-7 coverage, they can make the killers seem like the real victims.

And it's back to the Boston bombings again today.

Now they are interviewing one of the firefighters who heard the bomb, yesterday is was the uncle of the bomber telling us about how he used to play with the kids' cat 12 years ago.

Really lame.

Shame I don't have any other news channel.
