I have yet to see one black person say that they were better off in the 1950s, however.
There are people sitting there, pretending that they know what is best for people like me. Deep down, the "Blacks had it better in the 50s" catch phrase is just a way to cover up one's own feelings. I think some people know the 50s weren't that good for Black people. Some people want a time when Blacks were expected to "know their place".

Actually intelligent people realise that there is no Black run country in Africa that is still not attempting to recover from the devaststing effects of colonialism.

So when Europe and America conduct business in the same manner as as they had with one another, Africa will continue it's financial and cultural ascent.

Had the Americas and Europeans been forced to pay, finance and do business with the original African countries, tribes and people it would be the major financial powerhouse in the world today.

What the U.S. Can Learn From Africa’s Booming Economy
Seven out of the 10 fastest growing economies in the world are in sub-Saharan Africa. Taken as a whole, Africa’s economy would be the eighth largest in the world, greater in size than rapidly rising countries like India and Russia.

Europe's problems
Gurría praised the state of South Africa's public finances as better than many OECD countries' adding, however, that the country's response to the recession was more in line with Europe's than that of the booming economies' of the Brics countries.
"It's no consolation but we in Europe are experiencing some of the same problems; unemployment is edging to 12%, inequality is growing."
While praising the state of South Africa's public finances as better than many OECD countries', the survey criticised South Africa's growth in state spending over the years that came mainly in the form of increases in public sector wages. The ratio of public debt to gross domestic product was expected to rise to above 40% in 2015/16.

South Africa's issue is economic and financial, not Black leadership. Are you really this uninformed??

Why don't more companies do more business in Africa? Labor is starting to get more expensive in China and other formerly poor countries. Why don't companies open factories in Africa to build cars, TVs and computers? What do you think the reason is?

I'm not so sure about that. We had our conflicts. We discriminated against Catholics, Irish, Jews, Negros, Japanese, Chinese, Indians and Mexican you name it, there was always conflicts.
Today it seems the Asians lead in our schools, hospitals and technology so they are the leading asset in our country. We certainly would not be better place without them.

Because untill Africa as a continent or a large part of Africa unite into a system whereby all or most of it's people are educated to function at a commonly accepted level, untill they are willing to forgive past real or perceived injustices towards one another, they will remain fragmented and unstable.

No one will build an infrastructure, business or company when a military coup may steal your property or a civil war breaks out or where you will not be able to find enough people who can function at the required educational level.

The fact is, that what you consider "White", was an anomaly in the Human species, Common sense tells us that... that anomaly will be bread out. That is just science.

It isn't racist to say this country will be nowhere near as nice as it used to be once the hispanics start taking over.
Well your comments are racist and I say this as a white hispanic man! The only thing that changes about America is the color of our skin! Funny how nice "hispanics" are to you when you vacation in Mexico!
