Single mothers that can't pay the bills must have welfare cut after the first birth, any more kids then no extra cash - and if they can't pay then the kids must be put into an orphanage
I think that is the way to go, right?
For the life of me, I just have never gotten this outrage about welfare. I remember in high school, I took a speech and debate class and one of the first debates I had because this was back in the 1990's was about welfare. I actually had to do some research on the subject and not just go by my gut.
What I found was these families were really poor. The moms didn't have a bunch of children as was the stereotype. Most of the families were off of welfare within 5 years. It didn't create dependency. The families that were on welfare long term had other issues with drugs, or violence or mental health issues, that welfare alone couldn't address, but that wasn't an indictment of welfare only that some families needed welfare in addition to other aid.
The amount of money they received was very little. And they had to jump through embarrassing hoops to receive that paltry sum of money.
Also, the vast overwhelming majority of parents had worked previously before receiving welfare and the vast overwhelming majority worked after.
I remember thinking of all the ways our government spends money on behalf of society, helping moms take care of their children is one of the best uses of public money.
So, then we pay more for all the associated costs of an orphanage? Also later in life the kid has issues because he/she was put in an orphanage.
Money talks, if they are on welfare, after their first kid on the dole, offer them a free tubal ligation and $500 cash. Offer the baby daddies free vasectomies and $500 cash...I bet you'll get some takers
Are you completely in the dark about orphanages?
Kids aren't going to be nearly as traumatized by an orphanage as they are spending their entire childhood in a dysfunctional, welfare family. Unfortunately, they grow up to think it's normal, and the cycle repeats.
You realize that what you're proposing here is a textbook example of negative eugenics right? There's a reason we abandoned that. I suggest you open a book or two and learn something from history before spouting off.
And if they have more, you want to hurt the child?
Let me get this straight.
C's don't want birth control, abortion, to support anyone born...
I have no problem with women being forced to use the norplant or other subcutaneous birth control if on any benefits (welfare or unemployment) since they can't take care of themselves, how can they take care of others. Once they're able to take care of themselves, the bc can be removed.
But to deny support for those born, who have a hard enough time of it is disgusting.
It's always so good to deny support to those who need it most.
Do they do that in the country where you live?
And tell me, are you christian?
Seems that they frequently go hand in hand.
THIS. ^^^^
And as soon as there is a Norplant type contraceptive for men on the market.....welfare baby daddys and deadbeat dads should have to be implanted until they start paying their share to support their children.
I like how republicans are all for big governemnt.
And you are for a dead beat dad and a welfare mom raising kids right? It is obvious that the welfare kids don't have a chance, probably have to hear from morning to night a momma who thinks she is owed. Yes, welfare starts at home and it goes on generation after generation.
Who's teaching these people that someone's got to pay? Someone else has to be held accountable?
