If someone says a negative stereotype about a group of people the PC crowd will go nuts and say generalizations are rarely if ever true.
But the media is full of stories about how wonderful "Immigrants" are. One of the first things they say is immigrants are hard working and family orientated.
Why is it OK to stereotype immigrants as hard working but not OK to stereotype immigrants potentially negative traits?
Yes, some immigrants are hard working but who knows if they are actually harder working than native born Americans. Please.... if we can't stereotype, why can the media tell us a stereotype about immigrants as truth over and over?
Code word for "black Americans are too lazy to work, got to bring in desperate impoverished unskilled immigrants".
Yes, it's a very racist stereotype. And one that ignores the fact that the hispanic illegitmate birth rate matches that of blacks and virturally all births to illegals are to illegals that never bothered to pay into a health insurance plan.
In fact hispanic poverty is growing, black Americans poverty rate is declining.

My family immigrated from Ireland, and they're pretty hard working, most of them were coal miners and farmers.

In reality the very hardest working people I've ever worked with or observed are black Americans --- it's almost as though certain individuals are trying hard to beat a stereotype. Some immigrants work hard enough but I've never observed all that special a work ethic with most.
Whenever some bigoted Democrat starts spewing the proven falsehood that "Americans are too lazy to do the jobs illegal immigrants do", I always think of some of my friends and young family members who work two or three jobs while going to school.
I have come across hard working immigrants. Usually Mexicans. There are those that aren't hard working. What is the problem with mentioning that there are indeed immigrants out there that are hard working instead of constantly being barraged with the "lazy free hand out immigrant" that we always hear?
