I don't know about that. Her brand is much more than the Food Network. I think her brand was MUCH stronger than the Food Network which probably didn't make them happy. You don't see many people still on the Food Network that have their own line of pots and pans and foods. Racheal Ray has all but disappeared.
I read also that her book publisher is reconsidering putting out her next book this fall, and even QVC is on the fence about having her appear anymore. This will have a domino effect.
I just want to add that I really liked Paula Deen as a personality. her recipes leave something to be desired, but I can go for buttered, fried, doughy things once in a while like most Americans. I like Gordon Ramsey and love Tony Bourdain. i'd be a fool to believe neither of them have ever used a racial slur against blacks or Pakistanis. the difference is, this seems to be something deeply ingrained is Paula Deen. Anyone who thinks it's okay to have black staff dress as slaves for a Gone With the Wind wedding is way out there on the how racist are you spectrum. to not realize that that was nothing but a bad idea, you really have to be stuck mentally in the good ol days.
Would it be any different, if black actors portray slave servants for movies, than be dressed as slave servants for this wedding? If one is negative, then shouldn't both?
Yes she is white, Lisa Jackson, was the former general manager of Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House. Paula brother allegedly sexually harassed her and made racial remark.
