I know several American Indians here in Bullhead City, Az. and what the hell have the Rez's done for them except killing a member's "can do" attitude as well as talking those people into drugs and drinking. AI's are all US citizens here in the US.

I know some people here on CDF will call me "racist" for starting this thread; I say let's bring it on as long as we keep it classy. Otherwise a moderator WILL lock it down.

Before 1492 when the Hispanics came here; many of the Indian tribes did some real nasty things to each other like keeping the young women and some of the smaller boys but killing everyone else after war but where's the outrage over those crimes? Had the "white" man done that same thing; there'd be NO Indians left in 2013.

Native American people have the same opportunities that anyone else has. If they do not choose to pursue them, that is no one's fault but their own. The history of the American Indian is very sad. But just as the black people need to move beyond their anger at slavery, Native American's need to move beyond their victimization of what the "white man" did to them.

For the most part, they have free housing, free education (on the Rez), as well as many, many programs to help them achieve their goals. Nobody can force people to be accountable for themselves. It has to come from within.

The reservation has long been a part of my life.. It cripples those who inhabit it. That along with the government handouts. You want to see a government run society? Go to the reservation and look around. It's disgraceful. The poverty and ignorance is abundant and desire is non existant... As a "breed" it saddens me to see what the Indian nation has become.

Well; American Indians ARE now US citizens: like stronger tribes "adopted" members of beaten tribes in back in the day; we've done that same thing. We're 1 BIG "tribe" in 2103.

Here's the deal, the reservations are the sovereign lands of the respective native people it makes as much sense for us to sit around discussing their existence as it does for us to sit around discussing whether we should do way with Switzerland or Maldives. It isn't our decision to make, nor is this the venue for that discussion.

Like I said earlier in this thread: Indian tribes did the SAME things againt other tribes but where's your anger against that? Even in 2013 there's some real nasty "racism" between groups like the Hopi and Navajo here in Arizona; much like the Irish Catholics and Protestants mixing it up during the IRA time in Northern Ireland.

No. The reservations should stay where they are. No one is forcing Native Americans to live there, anyway. They are free to move out anytime they want to

Ok; like you said; the Indians can leave when they want into the real world but NON Indians and even Indians from a different tribe CAN'T live on the Rez of the 1st group without permission.
