When I heard that, my first thought was that if Trayvon had been allowed to live, we would have had at least his side of the story - and it could very well have been more credible than Zimmerman's (since Zimmerman has proven he has a little trouble with telling the truth).
It could very well be that Zimmerman would have been the one charged with aggravated assault - if Trayvon had lived to tell his side.
Police would have looked at GZ and then looked at TM, then put handcuffs on TM.
The jury has been sequestered. They are very unlikely to have any knowledge of threats of rioting or violence taking place if an acquittal is decided upon.
And that is the way it should be. Any influence, outside of the courtroom, getting thru to the jury would be grounds for a mistrial, would it not?
OTOH, if a bunch of miscreants want to burn and loot their own neighborhoods, what 'cha gonna do? These things, that are typically carried out by those that have always harbored such tendencies, were just waiting for a "popular" excuse to do so.

They might not limit it to their neighborhoods, they might fan out into the suburbs, the way the Muslim rioters in Paris tried to fan out into non-Islamic areas of the city, same with the rioters in London in recent years. I hope police departments across the country have plans to deal with the fallout from the Zimmerman trial. At the very least they should be able to shut down mass transit leading into suburban areas within minutes of trouble starting in the inner city.
If TM was the tough MMA fighter why would he let GZ shimmy away from him? But then again if had pummeled GZ One would expect to see a fair amount of GZ's blood on TM's hands and clothes, not to mention blood spread all over GZ's face. Watch a mixed MMA fight and look at the losers face...
Here is a simple test. Fill one hand with water and then punch that hand. Notice what the water does. It will splash. Hitting someone in the face that is bleeding will do the same thing.
Any hunter will tell you washing blood from your skin isn't a matter of rinsing it off. Blood likes to stick to your skin.
You can also take into account the GZ was lying down and the blood was drain "into" him and when he got up the blood drained down.

The state wanted jurors to believe gz was a trained mma fighter. The defense was not allowed to use Any evidence of tm's fighting skill. imo, neither was a trained. skilled mma fighter. I suspect tm was the more agile, athletic, experienced, stronger of the two.
If they exchange words - nothing threating - then yeah it is a sucker punch just because you 'feel' akward at a person profiling you and then asking you a question.
I think most people would feel threatened by a stranger following them around at night for no reason.
They don't have to. Once they're in the system they are assumed to be guilty and adjudicated accordingly.
My point goes back to if he were black this would not be talked about in the media as it has been or played-up on T.V. during the trial. Just another black kids death as a result of violence. And given the fact that most of those plead some sort of defense - it ain't a big obvious deal to be dealt with as it has been for this crazy azz cracker - everyone would act different if it were a black person giving the same exact defense as GZ.
