WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Senate has handed President Bush his first veto override, on a $23 billion water resources bill.

My e-mail listed it as Breaking News... so yah. Soo, in 7 years, only one veto override. Quite interesting.

Considering it was 5½ years before Bush even bothered to veto anything, that isn't surprising. He first used his veto pen for stem-cell spending, of all things

Apparently he had no problem with the absurdly pork-laden Farm (2002), Energy (2003), or Highway (2005) bills...not to mention McCain/Feingold's (2002) unconstitutional attack on free speech!

Yes, this is wonderful news. Another $23 billion added to the budget deficit.

Good thing it's not very much money.

You're right. Let's make it $24 billion. What the heck --- we're not gonna pay it, right?
