I would eliminate the estate tax and replace it with an inheritance tax. I find it mind-boggling that someone who earns $15,000 a year pays moore tax than someone who inherits $1M and doesn't work at all.

Whoever earned the 1 million already paid the taxes, hope this clears things up for you
I'd love to go to school and learn a skill but can't afford it.
Community college is relatively cheap and you can learn many vocational skills. Plus many government programs are available to give or lend you money to go to school.

I know that but I can't afford community college and do not qualify for any government programs.
It doesn't matter, the other taxes would just go up. However, for argument's sake, I'll say Sales Tax, because it is regressive.
I'd like to see a 'global' tax limitation amendment, e.g. perhaps where total taxes are limited to some percentage of GDP. You're right, getting rid of a specific tax merely leads to tax increases elsewhere.
Since no specific tax is perfect and all taxes have flaws, having a mix of several different taxes is probably a good thing, but capping the total tax burden makes that tax mix even better.
The corporate tax (or the sales tax). If we are going to tax income progressively, then just tax income progressively and treat capital gains over a certain amount as income.

Here in California where cc is relatively expensive one unit costs $48. So you could take one class a we water while working for probably $250 including books. You cannot put aside $250 for 6 months to further your education?
