Some have asked that a new sticky be placed for this topic. After review of several threads, I agree.
At 12 noon, EST I will open this thread and close ALL existing threads on the topic. There's too many that say the same things...over and over and over.
Rival gangs the Trays and the Zims remained peaceful this weekend after Tray leaders DJ Obama and Crumpdawg called for peaceful acceptance of the Florida jury decision. Leaders of the Zims faction agreed to the truce after conceeding a few key points in the Tray's original statement.
If Obama wasn't stoking racial tension, he would have said,
"I could have been Trayvon Martin 35 years ago. I also could have been George Zimmerman. I agree with Trayvon's parents and lawyers - this case was not about race. However, racism has been brought into the discussion by the media and by people who have an interest in keeping racism alive and well. I am one of those people, but I'm here to say it needs to stop."
