I work a second part time job at a major retail chain and I can tell you straight out that they are cutting hours for people and making sure that no one goes over a certain amount of hours per week. I know of one lady who is moving from NC back to Texas as she will not be able to survive due tot he cuts in hours.

That is SO idiotic... all you have to do is go out there and look at large businesses and know that they are indeed slashing worker hours... you don't even have to look far, Walmart, the world's LARGEST employer is doing it... and the employees are not to happy about it... hiding in a shell and saying it isn't happening is DENIAL... welcome to stage 1 liberals...
