It depends. I currently live in California and I heard that the state's budget here is a huge mess or something like this.

Also, in terms of demographics, I think I previously heard that there will be more Hispanics/Latinos than Non-Hispanic Whites here in California either this year or next year.

LA has the second largest Hispanic citizenry in the world. Only Mexico city has more.

This state is being managed by the same liberal progressives that ran Detroit into the ground. Think about it, the liberals blamed republicans for Detroit which hasn't had a republican presence in nearly 40 years. We are Detroit on a much grander scale, and at some point we will require a bail out.

When we elect people like Davis who ravaged our economy with backroom deals (Enron), and then Schwarzenegger as if he could summon the terminator to fix Sacramental, and then the cherry on the cake in Jerry 'Moonbeam" Lewis (Davis) for a second shot at nailing the coffin lid shut... yes we are totally screwed.

Been a resident for 7 months.

It's going thru a cultural change. Those who can't/refuse to adapt are the ones complaining.

Wow, thank God we still lead in something positive.

We also lead in:
-Welfare recipients - we are 27% of the burden yet only 10% of the population.
-Illegal aliens - we have more than any other state. They have held down wages in construction and many of the trades.
- Bankrupt cities - Stockton, Hayward, San Bernardino, and as many as 20 more to follow.
- Unfunded liabilities - with more than $200 BILLION owed for pensions alone
- We have higher than average unemployment at nearly 9% (really 16% counting underemployed)
- we have one of the highest poverty rates at 24%

this is just off the top of my head.

Fail? Care to try again?

I'm new to California, but if we all... like... change, and stuff... things will work out!

Hogwash

I'm 3rd generation Californian... and you are just another liberal transplant who refuses to adapt to the reality that saving money is as important as trees, wildlife, and water.

One more strike against our beautiful state.

Is there an article or something the OP is referring to that makes this P&C? Or general California envy?

That and who they vote for, statist Democrats, which means higher taxes, fewer jobs, more gun laws(which means more crime) failed government run schools...

The future of California is a large Detroit, which they will demand a bailout, which we the people of this nation will not give them..Statist have turned the greatest state into a 3rd world slum...anyone who can see this understand their are too few people to vote out the Marxist in power(they have stacked the deck with illegals, and their kids will vote for anyone who will give them a green card and a welfare check) and they leave, taking their money, skills, and wealth creation ability with them for freer states, those who stay are low/no skilled high dependency illegals/welfare receipts...The future is not bright...let that state burn....
