I agree.. All of this was hyped up for political posturing. There are so many more important issues and so many more cases of actual murders that could have been addressed, but the politicians wanted to make points. It's a shame that they used two young men and their families to advance political agendas.
He may have gotten away with murder, many people do and much more blatantly than this. I don't have details of this case, I didn't obsess over it or pay much attention because it didn't seem worthy of my time. The things people chose to make THE BIG THING out of always confound me. I don't spend time glued to my tv set over "news", ever, with the brief exception of 9/11 and Princess Diana's death because I happen to be watching TV when both of those stories broke.
