Yes or no?

It seems that the verdict protestors are mostly uniformly against SWG laws.

Harrier wonders what their opinion would be had the results of the scenario were reversed.

He would be entitled to use whatever defense his lawyers would advise. Considering TM had no injuries SYG wouldn't hold much water though.

That depends on if the rest of the facts in the case stayed the same. If Trayvon still attacked George then no, I would not support his defense. If George had punched Trayvon in the nose and was on top of him beating him yes, I would support his defense.

SYG has nothing to do with the Zimmerman/Martin case.

Nope, can't have open season on cops, security guards and voluntary neighborhood watchmen.

There are other ways of defending yourself besides shooting someone in the heart.

What's so hard for people to understand about that? It's irritating for people to keep referring to it a such.

Oops! GZ did not use 'stand your ground defense'.

Lawyrs made a big deal about not using it, as stated before the judge, before the trial began.

GZ used 'self defense'. No need toi use 'stand your ground'.

That is why Harrier created the thread.

The verdict protestors are only upset about SYG laws because of the Martin/Zimmerman incident.

They conveniently ignore the fact that SYG had nothing to do with what occurred.

Harrier is pointing out their hypocrisy and ignorance, which is why he can't participate in his own poll, because a critical analysis of the circumstances would be more nuanced than "yes or no".

I support a person's god given right to protect himself. To defend his life, that of his family and his property/home when his life is in danger.

Stand you ground is just ******* with guns.
