Public discourse over Presidential vacations is as old as the Republic itself.

For comparison sakes, John Adams spent 7 months at his farm in 1798....at one time. People complained about it then, just as they do now.

BentBow, substantiate your claims with credible sources... I'm not calling you a liar but I've heard this more than a few time but no one ever seems to provide proof.

And common sense says that whenever Bush went to Crawford, he could spend his time any way he wanted to.

He could play golf all day long.

He could go for long bike rides.

So how is that not being on "vacation"?

Oh come on, Obama golfs more than any president in recent memory and never leaves DC, does this mean he's on vacation while in Washington? Using your logic every president is on vacation 24/7 because you know they can all do whatever the hell they want to when they want to and where they want to.

I work from home, I could play golf every afternoon and ride my bike at lunch every day if I wanted to. Would that all be vacation time to you?

Bush was 367 to date. 490 in his 8 years, or a year and a half out of eight years.

It's not about golf ... it's that whenever Bush was in Crawford, he could do as he pleased.

To me, that is being on vacation.

He was the President of the United States just like Obama is now, being able to do anything you damn well please is part of the benefit of being the President no matter what party you're in. I find it quite hilarious that you're insinuating that 100% of the time that GWB spent in Crawford TX was "vacation" time, that's pretty high level left wing nut job stuff right there.

BS. The few times Obama has gone back to his home in Chicago, the right wing machine goes completely ballistic.

W like most all on the far right was lazy as hell and on vacation virtually non stop.
