President Obama's Saturday radio address featured a reprise of the amazing claim that the Affordable Care Act provides FREE PREVENTIVE CARE!
I've got the premium increases to prove this is not so. The providers are not donating to FREE PREVENTIVE CARE, the insurance companies are not donating to FREE PREVENTIVE CARE, and the government does not have any money of its own to donate to FREE PREVENTIVE CARE. Just as there is no free lunch, there is no FREE PREVENTIVE CARE.
This goes a long way to explaining the near-total failure of Obamanomics: the poor fellow has not the faintest idea of how economics works. He earned this ignorance fair and square, by virtue of never having owned a business, or managed a business, or working in a business--or even having a paper route.
Obamacare forces socialization of the insurance cost.
You are paying for that "free" care via other means.
And that 20% extra you pay every paycheck is a lot more than the $15/copay you would have paid if it were not "free".
Actually, the President does know how economics works.
He also knows how morality works.
Wow, stop it, you're killing me! I'm going to die laughing!
It is moral to criminalize paying cash for ordinary, routine medical expenses--it is moral to fine people for not sending extra money to insurance companies? It is moral to outlaw high deductible health insurance? It is moral to say these friends may ignore the law with no consequences, but everybody else must follow the law?
Sheesh.
Now if the president had said that we have an obligation to help the helpless, now maybe that could qualify as knowing how morality works.
But thanks for the hoot, a good laugh is known to promote health.
Wow, stop it, you're killing me! I'm going to die laughing!
Yet again we see the typical defense mechanism for the inability or unwillingness to admit that reasonable people disagree with you about the importance of morality, and the role of respecting the needs of others, rather than just your own personal enrichment, in the consideration thereof. You must be saying to yourself, subconsciously, "I must laugh so I don't have to face the fact that I'm engaging in extreme, avaricious rhetoric."
Actually, the President does know how economics works.
He also knows how morality works.
Whats moral about forcing healthy people to pay for the unhealthy?
