Maybe its the philosophy of I got mine, the hell with everyone else. Maybe they thought that by aligning politically with the establishment they would get a better deal. Mostly though it seems to be disappointment that they didn't get more than they did, even though they got more than enough.
Maybe they grew up and realized that one has to take responsibility for their own life.

Maybe they thought that their life was the only one that mattered. First generation Americans who begrudge immigrants the same chance they or their parents got. People with more than enough who think that tax dollars helping the poor or sick or disenfranchised is just taking money out of their pockets. People who love to feel superior to those with less. Hypocrites without a conscience. Doesn't make them bad people. Just a different view of life. To them it's dog eat dog. To me it's most dogs are friendly if you get to know them.

The year we made immigration for the majority of would be immigrants illegal. When my ancestors immigrated, all you needed was a citizen who promised to be responsible for them. Under today's laws, most people who immigrated to the US before 1950 would be illegals. What is legal is often not just, and what is illegal often is.

Baby Boomers didn't have computers, cell phones, tablets, iPads, etc to keep them busy and out of trouble.

Just saw a documentary about China during WWII. Shanghai accepted 18,000 Jewish refugees, who escaped from Hitler's Germany, without any papers, even though they were under Japanese occupation. No other country on earth accepted them. Although they were allies with Germany, Japan refused to round up and exterminate these Jews as Germany requested. So it has happened. Germany has allowed hundreds of thousands of middle eastern refugees to enter Germany without papers. In the US, if you live a mile away from the Texas border, it can take ten years to legally immigrate to the US. There's paperwork and there's paperwork. It has even taken years for Iraqi translators for the former US occupation troops to enter the US, although there is a price on their heads. Anyway we are way off topic here from my point that most boomers seem to have lost their social conscience in favor of current Republican ideals.

So why the hate towards millennials?
You're literally lumping all baby boomers together to criticize them for lumping all millennials together and criticizing them.
