Didn't Roseanne Barr call herself a "domestic engineer"? And aren't the guys who drive trash trucks called "sanitation engineers"?
It's clear that a lot of low IQ people posting don't have a clue what a real Engineer is.
Now that is something I agree with, in the hotel industry, the maintenance guys call themselves engineers when there is no engineering going on with their job, just basic general maintenance.
"Conservative" is a whole package and one should not reduce it to religion only.
Faith to God is pretty much like faith to "cultural relativism", "equal rights" and so on. Often times you choose what you want to believe and there is no need to be deeply involved.
Except when the Religious Right is deliberately attempting to cripple science education which will harm the quality of engineers and engineering in this country. Hard Science is the foundation for engineering; any attempts to water these down with feel-good mysticism should cause immediate rejection by the engineering community.
Take for example, your cell phone. Ask an engineer and a minister what makes it work.
The engineer will talk about the electro-magnetic spectrum, PNP junctions and transistors, Nyquist signaling theory, and other things that will may a layperson go into a coma.
The minister will give you a rousing sermon that a cell phone is inhabited by a mystical spirit that loves us so much that it wants us to communicate with everyone we care for. It does this by talking to other spirits in cellphones; how they do this is a mystery only known to God.
Given no other way to corroborate, both explanations are equally valid, and there will be some who greatly prefer the minister's explanation. Now ask both to build you a better cell phone.
The Engineer will come back in a couple of weeks with a test mule that has an improved battery, some upgrade to the radio, better materials to make it lighter, a brighter screen, etc. You will thank the engineer for his effort as you enjoy the new phone.
The minister will come back explaining how he prayed long an hard to the Cell Phone Spirit, he tithed to his church, and tried to be good and virtuous, but God would not grant him a better cell phone. Now perhaps if you would start attending church every Sunday, and make regular contributions to the donation plate, and be less materialistic so you wouldn't need a better cell phone...

What are you blabbering about?
The only people telling you wrong answers are "equally valid" are Obama's common core officials, who helpfully explained last week that if a student answers 3x4=11, that's okay as long as they can "explain" their answer:
people who live by the laws of logic tend to be...well... LOGICAL...
Unless we extend that to the science of climate study. They we're freaky warmists who know nothing about science.
