Funny how that works out, eh.

Take a look at the average tax rates for the 30 year period of 1979-2009.
Notice a pattern?

There are some lovely places that have no income taxes. Cayman, Bermuda and Monaco come to mind.
If you want a car on Cayman, be prepared to pay 50-100% of its value as an import tax. Want a burger, fries and coke for lunch in Bermuda, be prepared to pay about $25 U.S. You can buy a 750 sq. meter apartment in Monaco for about $1.65 million.

The reason that so many people are struggling is due to widening inequality, where the uber rich have been capturing most of the productivity gain over the last three decades (median HH income has been stagnant for a long time), combined with an unregulated shadow banking industry crashing the global economy.

Unfortunately, this doesn't stop the right wing meme of blaming SS and the gas tax for crippling millions of Americans.

I don't think you understand the fact that high tax rates = lower class mobility. High taxes increase inequality & decrease opportunity for the poor and middle class. ObamaCare has made things significantly worse. You have to go all the back to the damage Woodrow Wilson did to see such a large gap in the income between the ultra rich and everyone else than you see right now in 2013.

If you are against the growing income inequality gap, stop voting for Democrats.

Because private people, believe it or not, can be worse. Why government is the same reason we have locks. There will always be idiots.

I'll take a private company every day of the week over government. Government cannot get a single thing done without padding the pockets of everyone involved. It is the most inefficient system to acomplish any task.

Your arguments are logical fallacies. You probably are not well educated enough to understand that, or you would not have made an argument based on an obvious fallacies to begin with. Why not do yourself a favor and spend a little time educating yourself on logical fallacies before making any more embarrassing posts.

yawn...economic mobility was higher during the period after WWII up till Reagan, then it became worse under the onslaught of neoliberal conservative economics.

Then again, when do right wingers ever have their facts correct? They complain about economic mobility during a time when the tax burden is at all time lows, yet blame taxes and a right wing HC policy.

Right wing economics is built off of lies. This crap gets old.

So me spending over half my income on various taxes and fees is an all time low tax burden? You are right, this crap gets old.

Why do you think Corporations from all over the world are moving to Irlend? We live in a global economy, we have to be competitive globally.

The US corporate tax rate has become a new cause for companies to move overseas to avoid what is the largest tax burden in the industrialized world. At 35%, the US tax rate on companies and businesses is nearly triple the rates in some places, and well above the tax requirements of countries such as Ireland and Switzerland.

In an expose on March 27th by CBS's 60 Minutes, hundreds of companies, and over $1.1 trillion dollars, are now being kept overseas providing nothing to the US economy due to stringent tax laws and regulations which make it difficult to invest, create new jobs, and find profitability if incorporated in America.

Cisco alone has moved eight different companies to Ireland, where the tax rate is at 12.5%. On top of this, google, Facebook, and several other technical firms employ over 100,000 workers in Ireland, which they might otherwise employ in the US if the tax code was changed or adjusted.

While many companies moved to China, India, and other places around the world for cheaper labor, one of the main reasons for the move offshore was the draconian tax rates the US government imposes on businesses headquartered domestically. In an poll taken in January on the Fair Tax, over 500 companies said they would instantly move back to the United States if this tax structure were implemented in the economy.

None of what you wrote changes reality. If nation's are looking to lower corporate taxes that means those nation's have higher corporate taxes now or in the not so distant past, those nation's were not poor because of those corporate taxes. Do you get my point. Lowering corporate taxes my work in some cases and not in others.

Again we live in the real world and in the real world there are a lot of high tax nations and they are not poor.

In fact, many high tax nations are the most wealthy. This reality cannot be ignored.

Yet conservatives treat tax policy as a faith based religion. SMH.
