Do background checks prevent a well-regulated militia? If not, then they don't infringe upon the second amendment. That seems to be the part of the amendment that people conveniently forget.

Unfortunately these mental midgets are part of the debate and they vote.

Fortunately the supreme court disagrees with your conveniently biased interpretation of the Constitution.

They also give enough money to the NRA that their influence can exceed that of the actual constituents' votes.

I won't deny that I have a bias for reading sentences from the beginning.

Easier said than done as we have seen.

Recalls to mind the often misunderstood Shakespear quote (I believe from Henry VI): "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers".

The speaker (Dick the Butcher), was planning to dispose of the king and place another person on the throne. Dick knew that the lawyers (being the educated class) would object to the new person becoming king, in violation of the Law of the Land. Hence, get rid of the lawyers first.

If you don't like it write your representative or vote for someone else. That's how it works.

The supreme court feels that you have reading comprehension issues.

The "incredibly powerful tool of mass death" was a pump-action shotgun originally designed in the 40's (based on the original pump action models that have been around since the 1800s). Your second sentence is incomprehensable although you seem to have some sort of racist statement on the shooter being black I would guess.

A challenge for you - tackle the root cause instead of speaking nonsense. The real issue is of course, as someone indicated HIPAA laws on privacy regarding health issues. In other worlds government regulation on health privacy conflicts with government regulations on background checks for mental health issues, it's already illegal for the mentally ill to obtain firearms and this person passed a background check because his mental health issues, which were quite obvious in hindsight, were not identified in the background database (because of HIPAA).

Once we address this, that will solve the root cause. Taking away weapons from the 99.99999% of legal, mentally stable gun owners will not solve the issue. Oh and take your racism to another forum, not city-data.
