You do realize that in many countries the government regulates what they can charge, or they subsidize it?
That's not our economic model.

Medical outcomes substantially improve for people 65 and older because more people are able to be diagnosed and treated via Medicare.
I read though that the federal funding for Medicare has been reduced as they channel what would have gone to Medicare over to the ACA. I'm thinking eventually Medicare will eventually be phased out as it will lose fed support.

Correction - it wasn't our economic model, but it IS going to be our economic model with our Health Care from now on. Not with just the 20,000 ObamaCare rules, but also the new Medicare rules.

Get dropped the minute they get sick? Not really, they dispatch ninja assassins who kill them when they get home.

My guess is the vast majority of people who had to declare bankruptcy due to medical bills not covered by their insurance could have been saved had they bought supplemental health insurance. Did they, no. It's just like the majority of people with car insurance don't buy the insurance that will protect themselves the best, they buy the state mandated minimum coverage (and then gripe about it when it turns out not to be enough).

HeyJude, why don't you open a business that sells affordable car insurance that will cover everything on a vehicle for life. I'd be more than happy to pay $50 a month. My transmission goes out, you buy me a new one. My motor goes out, new one. I crash it, you repair every bit of it no matter the cost. Sure it's a 1974 Datsun 260Z, but you need to have your company pay the $28,000 to repair it after it's been crushed by a tree. I'm guessing people will be busting down your doors for $50 a month.

What you don't seem to understand is that to have health insurance that has no limits, the costs are higher than what most people want to pay or can afford.

And pre-existing conditions. Well, when you open your car insurance company, and I wreck my car, I'll call you up after the crash and tell you to sign me up and to fix my car that wasn't insured by you before I crashed it. I'm sure you'd be happy to do so. Of course you couldn't since you'd be out of business.

Was our healthcare system perfect? Heck no. But the idea that you are going to get a system that is going to cover everything for everybody with no limits at an affordable rate is rubbish.
