I usually agree with you on many things but this is incorrect in practical everyday application. Anytime you get to post expenses against potential taxes you are being subsidized. Call it what you will if I dont have to pay taxes that someone else does for whatever reason that is a subsidy. Not saying it's bad just calling a duck a duck.
It's in-kind support.
And this is why people who are getting their employer insurance subsidized have no business complaining about other people getting subsidies on the health care exchanges.
Never said it was cheap just a government subsidy that passes through employers to employees.
Trust me I know every tax year when I deducted the premiums I pay for my employees.
In 2014 I am dumping healthcare for employees and they have to fend for themselves. I already sent out the letters.
Told the employees to thank Obama if they voted for him.
You may get away with that rotten attitude now that the job market is down, but you can be sure your employees are going to keep their eyes open for a more humane work environment. I sure wouldn't be bragging about your actions if I were you. It doesn't make you look very good.

It is the height of hypocrisy or ignorance.
Specifically yes but the complaint is really aimed at the omnibus monster ACA take over of private healthcare. It's just misplaced complaining.
Wow, you honestly think you are the landlord in the scenario?
I thought that odd as well.
He doesn't seem to understand my point, which the landlord in my example is spending money whether a check is mailed or not.
The same as the federal government is spending money on these deductions whether a check is mailed or not.
It doesn't make sense that people don't seem to understand that the federal government not collected taxes owed based on giving out tax deductions is the same as the federal government collecting all taxes owed and then mailing a check for the value of that deduction.

Wrong I was one of the last employers in my industry regionally to keep medical coverage for hourly employees.
They still make more than their counterparts at my competitors. I have a list of people working at my competitors waiting for a position to open up in my company.
I am also increasing their yearly pay to help cover some of their out of pocket expenses for ACA. I will adjust a few other things to help them out as well. All based on performance of course.

Well that is wrong as well, but what I read are people who are getting a lot of government subsidies complaining about other people getting government subsidies, it is very unfair to me.
People don't seem to understand that the government is spending large amounts of money on THEM by giving all of these deductions.
It is a huge problem when discussing tax policy or government spending, because people who are themselves beneficiaries of huge amounts of government spending don't seem to know it because that spending is hidden as deductions.
I really wish the government went through the hassle to just collect all taxes owed and then mail out checks for all of these deductions, so that people who can't think would understand that yes YOUR tax deduction is the government spending money.
Why? I'll tell you why. My wife and I are actually citizens, work for a living and pay into the system. None of these things are true of those who will benefit from Obamacare. None!
I think perhaps, living in New Hampshire, you've become used to the workplace there where employers commonly provide insurance. Consider a state like Arkansas, where the average earnings fall well below the average earnings in New Hampshire, and where many employers do not provide insurance. For those people, who work for a living and pay into the system, for the first time they will be able to obtain affordable health care coverage.

No its not wrong. It's a good gut reaction, just an uniformed one.

The people supporting Obamacare said no employers are dropping health coverage or cutting hours so I'm forced to assume you are lying.
