Liberals only think they are geared to help the unfortunate in reality their poorly contructed ideas create the same wealth gaps.
They want the Government to siphon the wealth-while conservatives want the private sector to siphon the wealth.
If either has helped the less fortunate in the last century then we must all be hallucinating.

Liberals are more caring of others than conservatives, and this has been studied. Caring for and about others, empathy runs strong in those self identified as liberal. This is not to say conservatives don't care. Of course they do. But with liberals caring is more forceful for them, and as politics can show it can lead them astray.

Read this forum sometime....liberals don't consider it stealing. It's redistributing money to a better, more noble purpose than your greed and comfort. It's not theft if a) the government does the taking and b) if the purpose of redistribution sounds noble.
Yes, you and I know how theft is defined and that wealth redistribution in the form of personal payments to individuals is exactly theft, not sorta, not kinda, but dead smack in the middle of the definition thereof. But that is not how a liberal views things. In their worldview, all money belongs to the government first, and what they let you keep is them doing you a favor, so why not take more of their own money and purpose it to charitable sounding things? Their agreement with the government "charity" racket is compassionate....just ask them.

Ask the 1 billion Medicare enrollees since 1965 or the 2 billion SS recipients since 1940 if they don't enjoy some liberal policy and caring.
How about you see how much waste and fraud and how much that has costed us?

Caring and compassion is strong in liberals. Conservatives like yourself more concerned with self.
We all need balance. And IMO our 2 party system, the liberal - conservative debate creates the best country on Earth.
Sure there is waste and fraud. We do what we can to minimize it. And sure the program costs a bunch.
There is no palpable reason for SS to stop unless we the people decide to stop it.
Various pension plans and 401-K's are for private retirement investment management. SS is there for all, including those that fail. Not all private investments in the private sector are winners. There has to be some losers. So as recent proof in 2008, SS is there for all retirees, even in the rabid depths of a recession where many private investments went titzup. SS is simply a guarantee, beyond any personal retirement investment. I like to think of it as more diversification for ones' retirement investment portfolio.
