We need to get rid of REPUBLICANS. They are a cancer on this society, in more ways than one. Turning surpluses into deficits is their specialty. Making deficits worse, is another.

Getting rid of states, especially BLUE states, is absolutely absurd.

But the US bought California from Mexico for a mere $15 Million. Who would want to buy a state that's around $80 Billion in debt alone?

I'll need to brush up on my French, if that ever happens.

I do know how to say "cut the grass" in French though, "Mow de Lawn".

Wow, I didn't realize there were so many politically and geographically-challenged people on C-D.

Why sell off a State, when you can sell off a Territory, like Puerto Rico or Western Samoa, etc, etc, etc?

Territorially....

The southern states did want to become their own country at one time . . . and it took a republican president going to war to prevent it.

I say spin off all 50 (or 57) states into independent nations and each state accept 1/50 of the debt.
