Why do liberals downplay President Obama's "whiteness". (racism, party, supporters)

However, the hardcore Obama supporters always call him the first African-American president.

Couldn't he equally be considered the 44th white president?

Their racism isn't as easy to cover as they might have thought .. I suppose it's pretty easy for them to convince all of those young people that don't know history that they are the good guys tho'
