We could have had a deal in the Senate today, put forth by a moderate...But it included income verification for those seeking ObamaCare subsidies

And the Democrats rejected it, just like they fight against id for voting.

They want to give this country and every penny away to illegal immigrants, to buy votes.

What a disgrace.

I'm going to send this link to everyone in my e-mail address book, And let them know who is the real problem with this debacle.

Negotiations stall on Capitol Hill; House leaves, Collins' plan in serious doubt | Fox News

And for you basement dwelling know-nothings that are going to say the usual..."Oh! FauxNews"...Save us from your boorish posts....It's a news article, not an editorial.

The bill has already passed with the current provisions, and there's no reason to cave for Collins. If she wants to mollify the Tea Party caucus, she should do a pole dance for 'em or something... not use Obamacare as a means to do it. The president should not throw her a lifeline.

Please provide link to news article or announcement that the bill passed?

This has nothing to do with the Tea Party...It is common sense...If you are applying for a subsidy, due to low income, provide information about that income.

If a stranger came to your house to pick up your daughter or sister, and you asked their name...Is that the only question you would ask?...Just giving you a name would suffice?

Anything that we do in this world requires some verification...Except when the Democrats want to buy votes (at the expense of our well being).

Do some of you people have the ability to give any better reasoning than simply using the worn out "Oh, it's the Tea Party" nonsense?

If you have not noticed, all the parties are just self-serving waste...There are few honest politicians with our well being in mind...and they come from all parties...including the Tea Party.

Again...gives us a link to the bill being passed...Maybe it was just posted and I missed it.

This is a waste of time. Yours and mine.

Obamacare is the law.

Collins sat on the sidelines during the debates for the passage of the legislation when she shouldve been submitting ideas to make the legislation better. And had the president adopted her proposal, she still would've voted against the bill anyway. She's been playing these silly ass games for years. She's afraid to call out her party. She knows they're being unreasonable.

But that's HER problem. Obamacare isn't the bone that should be thrown to her hard-headed and intransigent colleagues in her party.

That analogy makes no sense.

There is already income verification, they have access to your IRS files. Enhanced "income verification" is just another GOP attempt to scuttle Obamacare.

"But the income verification piece, taken from House legislation, is a lot more problematic. It would essentially shut the law down, because as of January 1, there would not be a system in place for the extent of income verification Republicans are demanding. That means no subsidies could be offered to those who qualify for them. That means most of the uninsured trying to buy insurance on the exchanges would not be able to afford the premiums. That's a deal breaker."

Obamacare is the law.
And the house of representatives doesn't have to appropriate funds for it. That is also the law.

What does that matter?

Seriously though, the news in this country is a joke. Journalism is dead.
