Bridget Haymon of South Amboy was leaving a New Brunswick courtroom in August 2012 when Middlesex County Sheriff's Officer Lawrence Madigan grabbed her arm. Surprised, she pulled away. That’s when he reportedly grabbed her again, threw her to the ground and jumped on top of her.
Madigan later filed a report claiming Haymon had assaulted him. But the Prosecutor’s Office determined that report was false and charged Madigan with lying and simple assault. He was suspended without pay and returned to the job last year.
That incident — the subject of a federal civil rights lawsuit that was dismissed in October pending an out-of-court settlement — is notable for being an exception in cases where citizens complain about police brutality.

From 2008 to 2012, citizens filed hundreds of complaints alleging brutality, bias and civil rights violations by officers in more than seven dozen police departments in Central Jersey. Just a fraction of those complaints were upheld by the internal units tasked with investigating complaints against their colleagues, according to a Courier News and Home News Tribune review of hundreds of police documents.
When it comes to raising revenue, harassment, and falsifying/planting evidence, its blacks and other minorities (blacks, poor people, hispanics, people with certain cars or who dress a certain way) who suffer the most. Statistics show the number of stops on people of color and other traits depending on area, are extremely disproportionate to the current majority (whites, upper middle class whites particularly).
Why should they be allowed to do this and is this the intended purpose of a government Police force to begin with?
Private Police forces can be maintained with much more transparency and due process.
We currently have the highest incarceration rate (per capita and raw numbers) in the world.

the law abiding black americans are voters too. start voting politicians in that support firing police that violate Constitutional protections.
then start firing cops who break the law, get rid of the thugs.
once cops realize that the people are the employers and not the politicians, then thing will change.

That is a separate issue. One that is being addressed, but in a different way. What I'm talking about here is people who are affected by selective enforcement who aren't in gangs and don't have a violent history.
And as far as the gangs did you know that when peace treaties were formed in LA it was the LAPD who was attempting to destroy the peace?

I feel that day is coming in some places, not soon enough to me. There's too many politicians currently who prey on black issues but do nothing to actually help solve them long term. I know people locally who do more to help than the people getting paid for it.
Agree with what you said. I believe its going to have to be a united effort though. I believe there are multiple violations our current Police state is committing every day and that a Movement not divided by race is definitely possible.
