Nonsense.

The entire developed world is in a state of end-run financial collapse.

Silly kid, don't you know that Social Security, Medicare, and veteran's benefits are NOT HAND-OUTS? Everyone pays into Medicare and Social Security, and veteran's benefits are available to those who serve our country. Hand-outs are when the government pays people with housing and food stamps (actually no longer stamps but a card that can be used as a debit card). I have no problem with helping people out on a temporary basis while they get back on their feet, job training, or whatnot. But don't act like Section 8 housing and food stamps are equivalent to Medicare, SS, or Veteran's benefits.

We've had universal health care for 39 years, but I had no idea that Canada was destroyed, or in "end run financial collapse"...Could it be that this is just a big fib you are telling us?

Countries with more extensive social welfare programs have highly regressive taxes.
