Funny thread. The usual partisan sniping, while China actually does something. I think they are doing a lot more than just space stuff better than us these days, because we are so obsessed with political battles. We don't do much as a nation these days, except argue, build more, better bombs, and tell others not to.

Ummmm excuse me, but it was Barack Obama that has turned NASA into a "Muslim outreach" organization, instead of the organization that it has historically been. Obama has cut funding for space explorations. It has nothing to do with "RWNJ's" as you so lovingly call them.

Why would getting to the moon be so important? We have already been there, and we put a man on the moon, not a robot.
Good for them. Although they are decades behind, I hope this serves as a kick in the pants. The complacency we currently show in science and technology isn't beneficial to the country. Also, many current products and innovations exist because of space exploration.
Congrats to China. An ancient and once great civilization, after too long of a lull, on the verge of doing great things again.
