Must be Obama's fault.
Damn, that guy gets around.
Assuming your " incredibly polluting" statement to be accurate, how much effect do you suppose the statistically minuscule amount of them in use has on the environment?
And since you brought him up, Ill bet obamas trips on airforce one contribute more to "pollution" than all the wood burners combined on an annual basis.

God you people are duped so easily.

Obama regime bans wood-burning stoves. Wants you to rely on government for heat.

According to this, the EPA proposed updates to air standards for newly manufactured wood stoves and heaters. Please explain the quantum leap to the EPA banning the use of all wood stoves.

According to your own links, local governments in some states ban the use of non-compliant stoves.

It's my understanding that some counties in your state ban the use of some wood burning stoves at defined times within the year. EPA certified stoves are exempt.

Haven't you figured it out?

Your hero in the WH says he knows what's best for you and he claims to prove it each day.

Why is he against wood burning stoves? Its a renewable resource.

You conservatives are really hot and bothered by really trivial things.

This is like saying that since emissions in cars has been reduced by 97% since the 1960s that people will have to hand over their classic 1960 cars to the government....See how ridiculous that sounds.

You all need to find something else to complain about. Wood burning stoves are not being banned, they are being upgraded to be better for the environment and those who have the old ones can still keep burning wood in their old stove. When they want a new one, they will buy a more efficient and less polluting wood burning stove. No biggie.
Burning wood is not polluting period. There should be no regulations on any stove that burns wood.

This is an example of jumping to a conclusion from sensational headlines when the headlines validates one's perceptions.

Proposing updates to the standards for new wood burning stoves is not the same as banning wood stoves.

Anything beyond such standards occurs at the local level where people feel they have the most control. Regardless, there is nothing that ever will please everyone.

No, of course not. This belongs in your "Sarah Plain is smart" category....meaning you don't know what you're talking about.

The city of Montreal plans to adopt a bylaw forcing residents to remove wood burning stoves and fireplaces by December 31, 2020.
"Wood burning is a major source of fine particulate air pollution, meaning particles that penetrate into the lungs," said Norman King, an epidemiologist at the Montreal Public Health Board's urban environment and health section.
King says it's also a cause of many smog days in the winter.

You waited 26 years to blame Obama.

1988: EPA Phase I emission standards enforced, requiring stoves to be manufactured to emit less than 8.5 grams per hour.
