Watching the frustrated Russian leader Putin try to keep Ukraine from slipping away, brings to mind the question of what would happen if a Republican were at the helm? We look to Bush as the last example. "Shock and Awe", "Dead or Alive", "If you're not with us, you're against us", lie to engage, no plan to win the peace...this is the Republican way, and it never works. It would be worthless here.
President Obama, as usual, has this one right. Putin is violating international law, bringing the heat of the G7 on his head. Frustrated and looking like a damn fool, he is looking at an American President who has the support of the international community, and the power of restraint, diplomacy, and intelligent negotiation. Russia faces isolation, sanctions, visa bans, and so forth. Nobody wants a military confrontation, so this President is commendable in his approach.
Sorry Pubs. With all your negative narrative, you are again on the INFERIOR side of the argument here. Kudos to President Obama and his fine administration.
Since you blindly support the president, how exactly do you propose that he make Putin "pay" for his action in Ukraine?
That is what President Obama said would occur - it was his "red line" - and Putin blatantly ignored the warning because he rightfully does not respect our president.
Republicans (and some dems) OK dumb unnecessary projects for the military to line their own pockets with military industrial complex private industry money. They assume no one will care enough to research this while branding themselves "pro military." As if they are for increasing soldier pay or something.

Cutting the military while trying to whip up WWIII is stupid. And what makes you guys think that if we attack Russia that it wouldn't attack us back? We have a very open and unguarded southern border -- Russia very likely knows that. And why wouldn't Russia link back up with Cuba -- and with so many Cubans in Miami now, who knows how that could end up.

Why not? It's happened before in other places. Who can say that Russia wouldn't have any allies this time? Imagine if Russian or other troops came over the southern border? There is nothing stopping them. Or they could bomb us if we bomb them.
I think it's time for Americans to stop believing that we can attack and bomb other countries -- even a powerful big one like Russia and nothing can happen back.

I guess nobody cares anymore............haven't heard a word about Syria since the great leader balked on his line.

Yes -- what a silly time for our government to be trying to get a big war started. He's also closing a lot of military bases in Europe so that those countries will be unprotected.
Our southern border is a well-known joke. Just imagine foreign troops and tanks heading north from Veracruz to our unguarded border. What could Obama do to stop them -- he's slashing the military.
