A country with death sentencing and life incarcerations
(Other developed nations take a rehabilitative approach rather than punitive, with the goal of sentencing to protect the public and deter crime, not to 'get even'.)
A country that doesn't value healthcare as a public necessity, but rather something you buy at a grocery store
A country that apportions the most money not to the advancement of science and global diplomacy and empowerment of the people to create new things, but rather into missiles and arms and military fleet and military might.
The only developed country that equates religion/spirituality with tax breaks for the wealthy and engaging in overseas wars and praying for victory. As even classic novelist Mark Twain condoned this logic
A country with an artificial democracy with only 2 viable political parties to choose from, rather than a multi-party system with proportional representation. This results in lots of collusion between the 2 political parties, resulting in a dynasty almost.
The Bush years, the Clinton years, now Hilary Clinton to run for president or Chelsea Clinton
And the cost of financing a campaign to run for office is a multi-million dollar task that limits the franchise to very wealthy people or otherwise charismatic puppet speakers who have superb people skills and their true ideals ....
well that's not important to get elected.
A country where you can stand outside in public and shoot if you feel threatened for any reason "called stand your ground"
A country that sees waterboarding as not a form of torture
I can go on and on and love the US but there is a rightwing faction to this nation unmatched by any other nation in the G20
And it becomes obvious when a system of even "slightly" reforming healthcare to increase access to those without it, is equated with "Nanny state socialism"
This is crazy... Isn't it? Especially when you realize that when this country was founded, it's constitution and laws were the most liberal and progressive in the entire civilized world. How and when did we regress into a bastion of conservatism?

See, folks? I was right again. The left's agenda with respect to incarceration really is to chuck even life sentences, as evidenced by their perpetual "compassionate release" croakings--that'd be when the murderers age, get sick, or acquire any number of infirmities that elderly people who never murdered someone can look forward to.
You did go "on and on," so I'm not going to address anything else. But you might want to put away those MSNBC flash cards.
Nah, Russia and Saudi Arabia are more right. We can be thankful that our craziest aren't nearly as bad as the craziest in Russia and Saudi Arabia. I would say that some of our craziest are on par with Russia's mainstream, and some of Saudi Arabia's. I mean hell, Fox News anchors have been applauding Putin this week. They would rather have him than Obama (so they say...).
I'm not as familiar with Indonesia and South Korea, but I think they're more right wing as well. SK has an authoritarian history, although I believe things are better than they were several years ago. Indonesia is a Muslim country, so I would assume they're more strict than we are here, but I also know that Indonesia is not as bad as some of the Middle Eastern countries.

Wow, you were so right. EricS39 represents the left agenda. EricS39 is the foremost authority on what the left is trying to do. EricS39, who is known to be one of the highest-ranking insiders on the left, has exposed their darkest secret.
The Democratic party is not socialist. It has some low-key socialists in the ranks, but globally the Democratic party is congruent with Conservatives from countries in Europe, Canada, and Australia.
American political spectrum is shifted to the right. Even the democrats would be considered right wing in Canada. That's because a two party system doesn't allow to cover the full spectrum of ideologies. But, you don't have to trust me, let's hear the founding fathers:
"There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution."
Letter to Jonathan Jackson (2 October 1780), "The Works of John Adams", vol 9, p.511
