You mean like the West is concerned about Estonians? By joining NATO they became a perfect place to plant Russian moles , given the large Russian population that gives them cover.. So now they made themselves proxies, puppets and targets. If they had looked to Sweden and Finland with possible cooperation with NATO then...well.

So now they need to be extra careful not to fall for what happened in Ukraine. The West would love to make a casus belli out of these puny, manipulated NATO puppet states.

It is very curious how uneducated we Americans are about the world.

Russia has been just handed a major defeat in Ukraine that has controlled in one way or another for 400 years.

yet somehow Americans think Russia has been the victor.

25 years ago Poland was within the influence of Kremlin and now it is a full fledged part of Nato (threatening Russia)

the same story goes for Czech, Hungary, Romania.

It is one thing to debate whether it is our business to be so heavily invested into shaping eastern European politics.

It is another thing to pretend like Russia has not lost major ground in the past 25 years.

How was Russia defeated? They brought Kiev to it's knees! It's been reported that Kiev will join the State Union of Russia, Kazakhstan, & Belarus as part of the agreement for the Russians to back down. The Ukrainian military is on the verge of total defeat, two entire divisions were nearly wiped out.

I don't see how this can be labeled a defeat for Putin sadly.

Those reports are just false rumors that are always thrown around by intelligence agencies.

8 months ago the entire Ukraine (A country size of Texas) was controlled by a president closely aligned with Russia.

Today 90% of that Country is controlled by a regime that leans toward the west. all of this has been done without a single drop of American or German or British or French blood.

Putin needs a way to save face in front his populace as well.

Think about it if tomorrow Mexico was taken over by a regime that was pro Russian. and Pro American forces managed to just get hold of some place like Cancun!

would that be victory for Pro American forces.

all of this aside I do think we should ease off the throttle by looking for confrontations with Russia.
That's because they have a supply chain to deploy forces in the west of their border.

We don't have such a supply chain.

We should stick to our previous strategy of strengthening countries like Poland in economic terms so they can in the long term be their own independent counter weight to Russia in the region.
